I recently picked up the Tucano laptop sleeve for my MacBook. I wanted something to protect the computer while it was in my shoulder bag since the ports and disc drive don't have covers of their own.

I was drawn to the neoprene sleeve because of the periodic table styling on the front. Once I got it though, I became impressed with this feature:

Protective lip

An inch or two of material wraps over the edge of the laptop. It definitely feels more secure, but it also protects the case from getting scratched by the zipper.

The sleeve won't protect against series impacts, but I knew that when i got it. It also adds some extra bulk when putting the MacBook in my bag, but the weight is pretty negligible, so it doesn't bother me.

I haven't yet carried liquids alongside the encased computer, so I haven't had the (mis)opportunity to test it's protection against a leaky thermos or water bottle. Apparently, though, the neoprene should be a sufficient shield against small leaks such as those.

Verdict: Recommended
