I would consider myself pro-envelope-pushing when it comes to such subjective areas like art, but just can't see how eating dead babies is acceptable.
It's fun to look at what I've been missing since I've been out of town. It's not fun to remember that I won't be out of town for much longer.

Have arrived in Portland with little incident. On the flight from ANC, my computer ran out of juice and the DVD I was watching stopped with less than 15 minutes to go. I was watching Seven for the first time and that was a horrible place to have to interrupt the film. I watched the last few minutes, envy and wrath, immediately upon arriving in Portland.
I met a fellow schoolmate at SEA and had a quick beer before catching the connecting flight to PDX. That was pretty cool. He promised that I would get a free beer on my next plane or he'd buy me one when we return to FAI. He owes me a beer.

I'm in Soldotna, today. Tomorrow, Portland. It's nice not to be in Fairbanks where the sun rises at 11 a.m. and sets before 3 p.m. It's nice to be away from work for a while. I finished Chuck Palahniuk's newest book, Lullaby, the other day. It was a quick read. It didn't even take me two days to finish. I recommend it, though, it was quite good. It's definitely a departure from Fight Club, at least subject-wise, but Chuck's socio-political commentary still underlies the story.

As promised, I've got a short presentation about the pig roast. You can check it out here. It's not my finest work due to time constraints. Some of the photos might be offensive to vegetarians/vegans. I also have more photos that didn't make it into the presentation, which I will post soon enough.

PizzaDude is a great place to get some cool fonts.

The regular season of broomball is over. We do have a playoff series coming up, but I can't say I'm too optimistic considering our record.

Well, didn't make it to 50,000. On one hand, I'm disappointed, because I know I could have finished if I had planned a little better. On the other hand, I wrote 32,000 words of somewhat coherent prose, which is pretty impressive in and of itself. I plan on letting it rest for a while, and then trying to write again, but with a better idea of what's going on. I think I could end up with something respectable if I stick with it.
